Andy Rouse is a multiple champion – overall and class – in the British Touring Car Championship. Together with his 60 race wins in the UK’s leading championship, he is an outstanding engineer, businessman and visionary. This page complements his official Facebook channel.
01. Champion
With four British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) titles to his name (in four different marques), 60 overall race wins, countless pole positions and fastest laps, Andy quite rightly sits amongst the pantheon of greats.
02. Innovative
Andy wasn’t just a driver, he was an engineer and businessman of sublime talent. He engineered the design and build of many of his cars; he was also a cornerstone of TOCA that created the Super Touring regulations in 1990.

Andy Rouse
From the early-days of grass-tracking in the early 60’s to dominating Group A in the 80’s to shaping the regulations of SuperTouring – Director of TOCA – to competing in Britcar and Historic Touring Car Challenge, Andy has excelled in every formula.

From the Triumph Dolomite to the Toyota Carina in 1992, Andy won in many marques.
engineer
From his grass tracking exploits to working at Broadspeed, Andy grew his knowledge so that his insightful expertise won on the track.
le mans
From 1980-82, Andy also competed in the 24hrs of Le Mans in a variety of Porsche 924’s.
road car development
With success on the track came opportunities to develop road car machinery. His firm was responsible for the Sapphire Cosworth 302r and 304r.
visionary
Along with David Richards, David Lapworth, (Prodrive), Dave Cook (DCRS) & Alan Gow, Andy helped design the regulations for the successful Super Touring era.
Impact
Andy and his business partner, Pete Hall, designed the regulations for an innovative rear wheel drive formula (similar to that in Australian V8s) to become the future of BTCC.
